Two-Twos

Sarah celebrated turning 22 (!) on Wednesday.

And I’ve gotta thank my friends for going through the extra pains to meet my irrational likes this week. <3!

The week started off with a high tea treat at the uber swank Equinox at Swissotel The Stamford.

Thank you Sentil. Must have cost a bomb.

I wouldn’t mind a TWG Tea corner in my house too (;

hehs.

On Wednesday,

I was in school for a full day of meetings and work-related stuff. My exco got me a cake (that I only saw 2 days later. Stole this photo off facebook).

Hahas. This requires a bit of explanation…

I never saw my cake in it’s pristine un-cut form (as shown above) cos I don’t typically like to have my own birthday cake, for a very irrational reason that I shan’t delve into now.

How I like cake, is when everyone has a slice. With a lit candle each. And sing to one another. So it looks like its everyone’s birthday. I find it more fun and pleasant this way.

So.

They actually went through the pains of dividing the cake first before serving it.

In addition, because someone stole all the staplers from our work room, I felt very impaired with the lack of a the proper stationary around for me to do my work efficiently. Resorting to paperclips and scavenger hunting for stuff. And had been lamenting for the entire week about how crippled I felt without the stationary around, they got me a whole box of stationary, labeled with my name and all (: Most thoughtful and unexpected present ever.

Thank you 10th SMUSA Exco! Much love ๐Ÿ˜€ <3!

After this cake surprise, I rushed off to meet another group of friends.

I knew something was up. But just played along.

My instructions were to meet at Potong Pasir MRT.

Then I got blindfolded and whisked away. My friend drove round in circles. We even stopped for water (with me still blindfolded) cos the germ gods gave me a flu and fever on my birthday as well.

Then drove even more till we reached…

My boyfriend’s condo, where another group of school friends surprised me and we had a small barbeque. (: A few people ps-ed, thus the gap in the photo… to tag them. Can’t blame them though, they were not feeling well too.

Good food, Great Company. Thank you SFs +1, OCD and Bren. I enjoyed myself thoroughly. (:

Lastly,

What’s a birthday without presents?! (:

Bren got me a Tiffany and Co. Hammered Ring.

Simple and understated. And he got it 2 weeks earlier because the very nice staff at the Raffles Hotel store told me they would be conducting their annual upward re-valuation of all stock by the end of that week.

Dad got me a Blackberry Bold 9700.

And I’m waiting for the data plan to kick in. Slurps. Then I’ll be on facebook and twitter on the go! (((:

Then this last item wasn’t an intended present. But the school had a lucky draw and guess what?! I won! (:

I’m now the proud owner of a Sony Cyerbershot DSC-T90, in a very sexy and very me colour – aqua blue. (:

Last on my wishlist is a skincare regime, as a treat and investment for myself.

I’m considering between

Shu Uemura (which seriously has the best marketing),

SK-II (with 90% Pitera)

And Olay (couldn’t find a sexier image to represent the brand).

Any recommendations/personal experiences to share?

BUSY AS A BEE

It’sssss a one-man-operation at wottoncool this week, and just to make it that much more exciting (read: mad hectic), everyone decides to have hold TDF (to-die-for – if you had to read this you don’t watch Rachel Zoe enough hahahaha ๐Ÿ˜› I kid, I kid..), must-go events this weekend.

Here are some places that I’ll be popping by..

First up, a fashion/music/art/design event called Summary: A Design Delegation, with lots of interesting names, happening on Thursday.

Local label, Trioon‘s black and red opening at Mandarin Gallery. Her latest collection is <3.

A new G-Star Raw store concept store is opening in ION Orchard. (anyone else here thinks that concept store is kinda overused? Why don’t you just say it’s a thought bubble of desirable material possessions? concept – thought bubble, geddit geddditttt? okay not funny..)

I just bought a pair of G-star denims a month ago. (Remember my Denim Dream?) They’re cool… but not killa enough. I hope no new items in the new store fits me and looks awesome on me because I don’t want to spend any money! Christmas brokeness settling in early this year.

Then… there’s a new Forever21 flagship store disembarking in 313 Somerset. FOUR storeys, I hear. FOUR storeys just spell madness and chaos. I can’t wait.

If you find that you need to be in another mind-numbingly scary crowd, you can head down to UNIFEM’s Buy-to-Save 2009 at InterContinental Singapore on Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 5pm. Here’s a sneak preview!

There’s alldressedup, Chanel, Armani, Etro, Fendi, DVF, everything! All towards a good cause of putting violence against women to an end. Buy buy buy.

Yes, all this is happening this weekend. Okay now you need to save up all your lunch and dinner money to shop this weekend!

Bling

Before hitting the books hard on Monday, attended a friend’s 21st birthday celebrations where we were all also celebrating the last day of school (and finishing my module assignment early!)

After dinner and before arriving at Double-O, we were all given glow-in-the-dark bracelets. The ones you buy in packs of 50 and only about 10 actually work well.

Usually, I wear them (good and not-so-good) in this random jumble… But this time, they were arranged in gradient. I quite like it! hahas

blingSo totally random, but don’t you like my temporary bling?!

Had to make up for my blah outfit that night. (:

Lets fly, Lets fly away…

fly away with balloons

Attended a birthday brunch on Saturday.

Can you tell what the colour theme was? ๐Ÿ˜€

notetaking

Yeaps, everyone was in white and yellow. Which made it look so bright and happy :D. The sun was in on it too. It was damn hot!!! (but the photos came out real nice so what the heck eh?)

Tank top: Uniqlo
Dress: Perth
Lace Vest: SAM flea market
Bag: Salvation Army

dog

Even the dog was in theme. Cute right? ๐Ÿ˜€

Happy Birthday lene!!!

Wottoncool at Tampines 1 Officialย Opening

Picture 007

Jo and I attended the Official Opening of Tampines 1 on 17 July 2009.

Picture 001

Held on the Tampines 1 Mall Rooftop, the area was transformed with pretty tentages (the weather has been very erratic) and multitudes of industrial-standard coolers and mist machines to keep guests cool and happy.

Picture 012

And that is not forgetting the elaborate decorations…

Everywhere you turned, there was something interesting and eye-catching to oogle at.

Picture 017

And lets not forget the food!!!

Smart move to have mall tenants provide food for the event. I’m not much of a foodie, but without a doubt, two thumbs up (!!!) it was really good. (:

There were macaroons,ย  J.Co mini donuts and Bakerzin desserts…

Picture 009

drooling yet? ๐Ÿ˜€

Picture 010

There were also three sushi chefs stationed there for the entire evening, frantically folding, rolling, pressing, cutting, arranging sushi for guests to eat. (Thank you sushi chefs, you are appreciated!)

Picture 011

Picture 024

We soaked up the atmosphere and ate the our food to a live 4-piece ensemble who serenaded through the night.

Picture 015

Drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, were freely flowing through the night. (wah! big budget can?!‘)

And the white wine they were serving was the shiz!!! I could have downed an entire bottle because it was that yummy. *slurps (:

Picture 019

In addition to the decor, food and drinks, Mr. Brad Blaze, speed painter based in Sydney, Australia, was wandering around the rooftop, doing caricature drawings of guests upon request.

Picture 020

Picture 021Picture 022

Seriously, Tampines 1, where do you get all your money from!!! I’d like some too!

And if you think a rooftop party with tentage and fans, freely flowing alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and donuts, macaroons, shotglass desserts, cakes and sushi, (did I also mention that the 15+ waiters kept asking us if we wanted hors d’oeuvres through the night!), live music, Aussie artist and photographers taking guests photographs…

Picture 029

We each went home with a party favour – a bottle of wine!

EACH!!!
